Our festival hall already operates without fossil fuels. Heat recovery and the Minergie-P standard ensure a pleasant climate. We use sustainable pellet heating systems for our tent cities. The remaining halls are still heated with natural gas. But that will soon change.
By converting old light bulbs to LEDs, installing photovoltaic systems on our roofs, and implementing intelligent building management, we are optimizing our energy consumption in real time. This has enabled us to reduce our carbon footprint by 41% and increase energy efficiency by 120%.
Our central location allows for easy and environmentally friendly travel. We rely on public transport, bike paths, and soon also e-mobility options to enable a low-emission future.
We make 70% of our purchases in the Canton of Bern – only 2% abroad. This way, we support regional businesses while simultaneously reducing transport emissions. With the "Bärner Firma" label, we put regional businesses in the spotlight.
Together with 24/7 Catering & Events and the AI-powered platform Kitro, we're optimizing our food offerings and reducing food waste. We've also replaced plastic bottles in the conference area: Our in-house water bottling plant saves countless disposable bottles.
